MY Oceanic is a traditional Indonesian Phinisi, 28m long by 6m wide, offering year-round liveaboards in Indonesia  Komodo National Park, Flores and Alor straits and Forgotten Island, the new booming destination in Indonesia.

Completely renovated in 2016, the MY Oceanic is equipped with a 260CV Doosan engine, 3 generators that supply power in 110 and 220 Volts day and night, 3 compressors, including a membrane Nitrox one for fast filling.

Its navigation equipment consists of a GPS, a Garmin sounder, a Simrad radar for night navigation. Communication is provided by SSB and VHF radio systems, and a satellite phone for emergencies, an EPIRB and an Orion geolocation system. A pharmacy, oxygen therapy kit, emergency kit, 2 life rafts of 25 and 10 seats, lifejackets and fire extinguishers are available on board, as well as a 300 Lt / h Watermaker.

MY Oceanic is equipped with 6 air-conditioned cabins with toilets and private bathrooms, spread on 2 decks : one suite with windows on the upper deck ; on the lower deck, a more spacious suite with a sofa and a desk and 4 standard cabins. All cabins have a double bed plus a bunk bed, meaning they can be used either as a Double or a Twin.

On the main deck, an air-conditioned lounge  dining area, on the upper deck a sheltered lounge and solarium with 2 comfortable sofas on the roof. A room is dedicated to photographers & videographers to prepare their equipment. MY Oceanic can accommodate up to 12 divers in excellent conditions.

This boat offers liveaboards to Komodo National Park and some original itineraries in rarely explored areas : Maumere, Ambon, Banda Sea like that cruise from Saumlaki to Tual, in this area called “Forgotten Islands » is the heart of the famous “Ring Of Fire” ! Untouched coral reef stretched as far as the eye could see.

Liveaboards in Komodo are on 7 Days 6 Nights, run  from Labuan Bajo or Bima. Banda Sea rotations from 11 Days/10 Nights. This boat is ideal for small groups.

Your Dive in Komodo…

The dive crew of Oceanic have great experience of dive sites in the area, he’ll surely let you discover his secret places. A divemaster will guide you for each dive ! However security is an absolute priority, signaling devices and whistles are mandatory. If you don’t own them, there are available on board for free. There are of course first aid kit and oxygen supplies on board.

In Komodo, you will see everything that makes a diver heart beat: sharks, turtles, eagle rays, sometimes in schools, Mantas, especially from February to May. As for macro: pygmy seahorses, pipefish, shrimps, frog fish and a certain type of nudibranches.

Visibility is at its best from May to October, up to 40m, and 15m from October to March.

In this area, tides’ powerful wave actions regularly cause very strong currents. They bring a lot of nutrients, which makes underwater life especially rich in here. Down south, water can reach 22° ! A 5mm wetsuit is recommended. These liveaboards are not for Open Water divers who just graduated, N2 or AOWD with 75 dives is the minimum request. You will have to show : certifications, dive books and recent doctor’s certificate.

An aluminium dinghy, powered by 2 40HP engines is used for divers’ transfers and visits of the islands.

Nitrox, with membrane compressor, is available for certified divers..

Your Dives in Forgotten Island…

The Banda Sea and the Ring of Fire is part of the Coral Triangle, heart of the coral reef biodiversity, making its sea quite possibly the richest coral reef ecosystem in the world (75% of the different species are to be found there, according to The Nature Conservancy). Figures speak for themselves: 1400 species of fish, 600 species of corals, 700 species of shellfish, 5 different species of marine turtles, 57 species of shrimps.

You will make 4 dives a day, including a night dive.

The dive crew counts 3 members : 1 tour leader and 2 Indonesian guides. They all speak different foreign languages and are PADI professionals. Dive ratio is max. 5 :1 so everyone can enjoy a relaxing dive.

2 semi-inflatable dinghies, with 40HP engines, are used for divers’ pick-ups and visits of the islands.

15L tanks are available on request.

Nitrox is available for certified divers with a membrane compressor.

Cruise on MY Oceanic:

The boat is built on 3 decks: on the upper deck, at the bow, is the wheelhouse ; at the front, a chilling area with benches and armchairs. Behind the wheelhouse, the cabin suite, with large windows and again a lounge area, sheltered, furnished with benches and deckchairs that make it a shaded relaxation area very popular between dives.

On the main deck, there is an air-conditioned lounge with TV / DVD / Karaoke screen, which also serves as dining room. Just behind is the kitchen and the camera corner available to divers to prepare their photo and video equipment and finally, at the back of the boat, the diving area where the equipment is stored. This space is followed by the diving platform where we board on chaseboats for diving.

The lower deck accommodates the 4 standard cabins at the rear, and the second suite at the front. Crew quarters are located at the bow.

Above the upper deck, there is a furnished solarium from where you can contemplate the splendor of the islands of the archipelago, comfortably seated in Balinese beds / sofas. It is also a great place to gaze at the Milky Way at night.

The Indonesian on-board crew consists of a captain, 4 boatman, 2 mechanics, 1 chief and 2 assistants, 2 maids ; they all have a great experience of liveaboards in Indonesia.

CABIN DETAILS:

  • 1 Suite Double : located on the upper deck at the back, consisting of a large room with a king-size bed and large windows with a stunning view at the sea and the islands.
  • 1 Suite modulable: On the lower deck is the second suite, more spacious, with sofa and desk area.
  • 4 cabines Standard at the bow of the boat, consisting of a double bed and a single bed, good for both friends and couples..

All cabins have air-con and their own private bathrooms with hot water and storage space.
