M/V Pearl Of Papua is a large traditional Indonesian Phinsi, 30m long and 7.5m wide, built in 2010 in Tanah Beru. It offers cruises all year round in Papua : Raja Ampat, Triton and Cenderawasih Bay; basically all of Papua, the center of biodiversity in the Coral Triangle.
Le KLM Pearl Of Papua is equipped with 2 Mitsubishi 200HP engines, 2 40Kva generators and 2 compressors, a Bauer Mariner 200 and a Nitrox membrane compressor..
Its navigation equipment is made of GPS, Koden KGP 91 depth sounder, and a Furuno radar for night navigation. Communication is ensured by SSB and VHF radio systems, a Byru satellite phone for emergencies, an EPIRB geolocation system. A pharmacy, oxygen therapy kit, first aid kit, 2 life rafts of 15 and 10 seats, 40 life jackets and fire extinguishers are available on board. It has a 10,000L water tank, as well as a 2,000 L desalinator and a 6,000L fuel tank.
Le Pearl Of Papua welcomes you in 7 cabins of 3 types. They are all air-conditioned with toilets and private bathrooms : there is a suite at the front on the lower deck, with a large double bed, plus a single bed ; 2 Deluxe cabins on the upper deck, one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds, which allows all configurations : Double or Twin. 4 Standard cabins are located on the lower deck, with two bunk beds.
The boat large decks offer plenty of space to chill out, alone or in a group. On the main deck, inside of the boat, is a large air-conditioned dining / living room equipped with an audio / video system with plasma screen, karaoke, computers with printers, a library with books on sea biology. A space is dedicated for photographers to charge their video and photo cameras.
Meals are a mix of local Indonesian and European food, to please all tastes. Meals are served in a rich buffet made by the chef and his 2 assistants.
This boat offers short liveaboards (8 days / 7 nights) in all the most beautiful spots in Papua : itineraries are in Raja Ampat, but also Triton Bay and Cenderawashi in summer time.
Raja Ampat Park is located in the “Coral Triangle”, the world heart of coral biodiversity, and in a sea which has perhaps the richest diversity of known coral species in the world (75% according to The Nature Conservancy). Figures speak for themselves: 1,400 species of fish, 600 species of coral, 700 species of molluscs, 5 species of sea turtles, 57 species of Mantis shrimp…
Your dives (4per day, including a night dive) will take place under the supervision of the diving staff, i.e. 3 supervisors: 1 divemaster and 2 Indonesian guides. They are all multilingual and PADI professionals. The ratio per dive is 4 divers per guide maximum, so that everyone can enjoy a pleasant dive.
A minimum CMAS ** or AOWD certification plus an experience of 50 dives is required on certain itineraries.
Two small boats with outboards engines are used for divers transfers and visits to nearby islands.

On these liveaboards, Nitrox is available for divers certified with a membrane compressor.
The boat is made up of 3 decks : on the upper deck is the wheelhouse ; at the front is the lounge area, with benches, deckchairs, hammocks from where you can contemplate the splendor of the islands of the archipelago, comfortably lying on Balinese beds / sofas. It is also a great place to gaze at the stars in the evening.
On the main deck, we find at the back the diving area where the equipment is stored and the camera corner, available for divers to prepare their photo and video equipment. Next are the 2 Deluxe cabins, as well as the air-conditioned dining area with a lounge area.
The lower deck accommodates the 5 cabins: 4 Standards in the center of the boat and the Suite cabin at the bow. It is also on this deck that the crew quarters are located, at the stern.
The Sundeck located above the wheelhouse, equipped with deckchairs, is available for sunbathing lovers. It is also the perfect place to share a drink or stargaze at night.
The Indonesian crew consists of a captain, 2 boatmen, 1 mechanic, 1 chef and 2 assistants, 2 maids ; they all have extensive experience in diving liveaboards in Indonesia.
